Bowman's Canvas
Born in Clinton, North Carolina in 1973, Stephen Bowman grew up in North Carolina's eastern flats and then moved to the Appalachian mountains 10 years later.  He is married to Jeanette and they have 3 children.  Over the years of watching his mother’s creative artistic pursuits, such desire to express grew within him.  The drive to develop art that emotionally connects and transcends drove him to express whether through poetry, photography or painting.
In 1997 painting became his primary artistic pursuit as he began to create passionately crafted mural-sized paintings.  As Stephen loves philosophy, his favorite colors are deep, vibrant reds, blues, and indigos that sink deep and connect to one’s soul and reality.    The emotional diversity of the human experience is expressed in the variety of his works.  Moods represented range from: calm to anger, sadness to delight, sympathy to celebration, loneliness to completeness, frustration to ease, and resignation to strength.  Mood art can shap the way a room feels and because his pieces are interactive with the viewer the mood provide changes with the as viewers mood changes.
